Cultival, partner of the Fête de la Gastronomie 2017 at the Rungis International Market
On Friday 22 September, 400 visitors were given the opportunity to explore the Rungis International Market accompanied by guides from Cultival agency during an exciting and unusual event marking the opening of the 2017 Fête de la Gastronomie.
Stéphane Layani, CEO of Rungis International Market, was the official sponsor of the 7th edition of this event for gourmets which took place from 22 to 24 September. Organised every year at the instigation of the Ministry of the Economy in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture, the Fête de la Gastronomie promotes producers of fine foods and their skills and knowledge and aims to raise public awareness of the choice of products and the diversity of French regions and terroirs.
To this end, SEMMARIS, the market management company, asked its partner Cultival to organise morning guided tours of its site for 400 visitors invited from the general public.
Cultival was able to draw on the experience gained since the launch of its partnership with the Rungis Market in January 2017, the skills of its experienced guides and its on-site support team.
The agency put in place an impressive system to accommodate the 16 groups of 25 people on this site, normally closed to the general public, to manage flows and optimise the visit’s routes.
In total, eight experienced guides and four buses welcomed 400 visitors on itineraries specially designed for the event, with two departures at 4:30 and 7:30 in the morning.
To facilitate the orientation of the groups on this 272-hectare site, Cultival had also set up special signage and a badge system for visitor recognition.
The highlight of the show: visitors were able to make their own purchases directly from wholesalers at the Rungis International Market, accompanied by their guides.
Cultival has been managing guided tours in the world’s largest fresh market, the Marché International de Rungis, since January 2017.
